What is personal information?
Personal information is information about an identifiable individual. Personal information includes information that relates to their personal characteristics (possible examples: gender, age, income, home address or phone number, ethnic background, family status), their health (possible examples: health history, health conditions, health services received by them) or their activities and views (possible examples: religion, politics, opinions expressed by an individual, an opinion or evaluation of an individual). Personal information is to be contrasted with business information (examples: an individual’s business address and telephone number), which is not protected by privacy legislation.
Who we are
Anatech Inc. includes, at the time of writing this, outside sales representatives and customer service personnel and supporting staff. We use a number of consultants and agencies that may, in the course of their duties, have limited access to personal information we hold. These can include computer consultants, temporary workers to cover leave or holidays, credit card companies, website managers, accountants and lawyers. We restrict their access to any personal information we hold as much as is reasonably possible. We also have their assurance that they follow appropriate privacy principles.
Collecting Personal Information
Unless the purposes for collecting personal information are obvious and the customer voluntarily provides his or her personal information for those purposes, we will communicate the purposes for which personal information is being collected, either orally or in writing, before or at the time of collection.
We will only collect customer information that is necessary to fulfill the following possible purposes:
To populate your user profile;
To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information, products and services that you request from us;
To provide you with information about other goods and services we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about;

Information you give us
You may provide personal information by filling in forms on our site oofos.ca (“Our Site”) or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes, but is not limited to, information you provide when you register to use our site, subscribe to our service, search for a product, place an order on our site, complete or abandon a transaction, verify your credit card, arrange for delivery or return of a purchase, participate in discussion boards or other social media functions on our site, enter a competition, promotion or survey, obtain a discount from our site, and when you report a problem with our site. Information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from our site (including date and time); products you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our customer service number
Information we receive from other sources
We may receive information about you if you use any of the other websites we operate or the other services we provide. We are also working closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from them.

Subject to certain exceptions (e.g., the personal information is necessary to provide the service or product, or the withdrawal of consent would frustrate the performance of a legal obligation), customers can withhold or withdraw their consent for Anatech Inc. to use their personal information in certain ways. A customer’s decision to withhold or withdraw their consent to certain uses of personal information may restrict our ability to provide a particular service or product. If so, we will explain the situation to assist the customer in making the decision.
We may collect, use or disclose personal information without the customer’s knowledge or consent in the following limited circumstances:
When the collection, use or disclosure of personal information is permitted or required by law;
When the personal information is available from a public source (e.g., a telephone directory);
For the purposes of collecting a debt;
USING AND DISCLOSING PERSONAL INFORMATION
We will only use or disclose customer personal information where necessary to fulfill the purposes identified at the time of collection or for a purpose reasonably related to those purposes such as:
- To conduct customer surveys in order to enhance the provision of our services;
To contact our customers directly about products and services that may be of interest;
We will not use or disclose customer personal information for any additional purpose unless we obtain consent to do so.
We will not sell customer lists or personal information to other parties.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties:
In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets
If Anatech Inc. or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets
If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms and conditions or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Anatech Inc., our customers, or others. RETAINING PERSONAL INFORMATION
If we use customer personal information to make a decision that directly affects the customer, we will retain that personal information for at least one year so that the customer has a reasonable opportunity to request access to it.
We will retain customer personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the identified purposes or a legal or business purpose.
Our site is hosted on Shopify Inc (“Shopify”). Some information you provide to us is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the Shopify application, on secure servers. Shopify’s Terms of Service and Privacy Statement can be found at http://www.shopify.com/legal. We also use various other technologies to store information when you visit our site.
Any payment transactions will be encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with an AES-128 encryption, through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction.
Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. ACCESS TO INFORMATION
The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of $10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
